Project Overview
Ascia Construction engaged Bentley SIPS early in the process to design and install the structure for the new Carville Building at Peter Symonds 6th Form College; a modern, spacious facility comprising 12 state-of-the-art classrooms.
Providing a complete superstructure solution including steelwork and SIPS, the Bentley team tackled issues like disproportionate collapse at the design stage. This enabled the structure to arrive at the agreed time and the whole structure was up in under 6 weeks, ready for roofing and internal trades to follow.
The building includes installation of an energy-efficient heat recovery system and a solar panel system to offset the building’s electricity use, among many other measures to achieve BREEAM Excellent ratings.
Following the success of this project, Bentley SIPS have gone on to work with the same Ascia team on a project for Brockenhurst College.

“Dan and David were excellent. They said they’d do it in 6 weeks and they did!
We’re hoping to win the next (college) job so we can work with Bentleys and SIPS again”
