Bentley SIPS are proud to have been one of the local companies sponsoring an epic cycle ride in aid of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).

Organised by the Champion Group, a fellow Basingstoke-based construction business, the team of six cyclists (Jon Bird, Adam Chandler, Ian Dobson, Lionel Eales, Simon Hall and Dan Hare) pedalled through torrential rain on a 154-mile route from Basingstoke to Portsmouth, across the Isle of Wight, back to Lymington and finishing at Basingstoke Rugby Football Club.

The fundraising total, with gift aid, currently stands at £11,634 and there is still time to donate to the riders, individually or collectively at https://thechampiongroupco.uk/hampshire-loopy/

Jill McDonagh from HIOWAA said: “On average, it costs £15,000 a day to keep the air ambulance flying, so the amazing amount raised through this fundraising feat could be life saving for the patients who so desperately need our help.” For more information about the charity, visit http://www.hiowaa.org

Bentley Director, Dan Pervin, had hoped to join the cyclists, but couldn’t due to a diary clash. Apparently he’s used to cycling similar distances with some of the ‘Loopy Team’ for fun, so hopefully we’ll see him taking part next year!
