Project Overview
Bankside College is a development for Options Malvern View, who provide 24/7 accommodation education and transition services for young people with autism.
Working with the architects and main contractors, Bentleys have provided the structure for an education building including an assembly hall, activity rooms, food prep, office/meeting rooms and WC facilities. The development, which reflects the appearance of the stable block it replaces, will provide post-16 provision for students.
SIPS was chosen for speed of construction and the need to limit the programme in this special educational setting. With a 5-week installation for the whole structure, the main contractors were able to achieve weathertightness and progress internal works much sooner. The other advantage will be energy efficiency in occupation through excellent thermal performance.
