Project Overview

Occupying a dramatic position with stunning sea views, Marine House is set in a striking Art Deco-style building on Milford on Sea seafront. The owner developed the building by converting the existing first floor to two residential apartments and adding a rooftop extension to create a penthouse apartment, all whilst the ground floor restaurant remained open to the public.

Bentley SIPS provided the SIPS structure for the rooftop extension, building off the existing concrete roof slab and including a single ply flat roof with opening for a raised ‘lookout point’.

SIPS offered the advantage of a lightweight build that was easily accommodated by the existing structure. Speed of build was also essential with a limited window to apply the external render finish in this exposed coastal location.
